I have always liked Richelle Mead's writting and her unique storylines, so you can imagine my excitement when I herd that she is going to write new series. I immediately preordered it even though I didn't know much about it.

The Glittering court is first book in new companion novel series by Richelle Mead.

This story is a bit different from Richelle's other books. It doesn't follow vampires or any other creature with special abilities, Here our main character is Adelaide, countess, who is not pleased with her life, Everything is decided for her, its like she doesn't exist. At first she was used to living like that, but after her grandmother arranged marriage, she decides to speak up. But again she can't do anything about it. When she gets a chance to disguise herself as her servant and go to Glittering court, she doesn't think for a second. There she gets a chance to go to new land, Adoria, and marry to some rich man she chooses. But she will be drown to someone she shouldn't, someone with a secret of his own...

The Glittering court is kind of school for girls from poor districts to learn how to behave like royality: how to cook, dance, plan parties... Naturally Adelaide is very good in all tasks, because she grow up doing them. But no one can know who she actually is, so she has one more problem. She must not be best, or they will discover her secret.

I really enjoyed this book. It had well-known Richelle's writting we all love. The characters were well developed and loveable. I kept thinking about them even after finishing book. They just stuck with me. Romance was also on point. It was so cute and powerful at the same time. I also enjoy the idea of Glittering court. It gave story an unique aspect.

On the other had, there were some parts that I was disappointed about. Through whole story we know that Adelaide's two best friends have secrets, but we don't get even a hint what they are. They seem to have big part of story, so i wish author gave us some clue to what they are all about, 

After all I really enjoyed reading this book. It was really entertaining and kept me on the edge of the seat. If you think this is your cup of tea, you should definitely check it out, you will not be disappointed, I gave it 4.5/5 stars on goodreads.

SHADOWHUNTERS-movie & tv show

I hope you are doing well. Lately there are more and more adaptations of books, so Shadowhunters by Cassandra Clare are no expectations. 

It all started when Cassandra Clare sold filming rights for first book City of bones. Many people were excited that their favorite series is going to become a movie and that they will be able to enter that world again and look at it from a new angle. But as soon as it got out, the movie has stirred the public, because it was not faithful to the book and the wide beloved world. 

In my opinion it was a good film, because I managed to divide book from it, so i was looking at them as two completely separate things, but i understand why people were so upset. It must be difficult when you have huge expectations, because there is so much potential, and then they are suddenly crushed, like a house of cards. 

We somehow survived that famous film, hoping that no one will destroy this world that we love so much and show it in a bad light, but someone else had a different idea. Then the Shadowhunters tv show was born, new attempt and new hope for world of semi angels.

I didn't have such a big expectations this time. I knew this wouldn't be the same as book series. Frankly some things i really liked, but some not so much. The series definitely had its ups and downs. In my opinion, as the season progresses, there is progress, so i hope it will continue in that positive direction.

My favorite character is Simon. He is most realistic and reliable. As for Clare and Jace, for now they are awkward to me. I think that acting is not a problem, but the incredibly cheesy lines that they have. Isabel is fine, but i muss a bit of her rudeness, Alec had some amazing moments, but also some not so great. Anyway, they have to work more on them, but this phenomenal actors and people will sure do it, we just have to be more patient.

Zdravo svima,

Nadam se da ste dobro. U poslednje vreme se snima sve više adaptacija knjiga i popularnih serijala, pa tako ni Senolovci (Shadowhunters) od Kasandre Kler nisu izuzetak. 

Sve je počelo kada je Kasandra Kler prodala prva za snimanje filma. Svi su bili oduševljeni što njihov omiljeni serijal knjiga postaje film, što će moći da uđu u taj svet i da ga sagledaju iz novog ugla. Ali čim je izašao, film je uzburkao javnost, jer nije bio baš veran knjizi i tom svetu u kom su čitaoci toliko dugo bili. 

Meni je film bio dobar, jer sam uspela da odvojim knjige od samog filma, i gledala sam na njih kao na dve potpuno odvojene stvari, ali shvatam zašto su se ljudi toliko uznemirili. Sigurno je teško kada imaš ogromna očekivanja, jer znaš da ima toliko potenicijala, i onda ti se odjednom ona sruše, kao kula od karata.

I nekako smo preživeli taj famozni film, nadajući se da više niko neće uništiti taj svet koji toliko volimo i prikazati ga u lošem svetlu, ali neko drugi je imao drugačiju ideju. Tako se rodila serija Senolovci, novi pokušaj i nova nada za svet polu anđela. 

Nisam imala neka velika očekivanja. Znala sam da ponovo neće biti isto kao knjige, i tako spremna sam ušla u seriju. Iskreno neke stvari su mi se baš svidele, a neke ne baš. Serija svakako ima svoje uspone i padove. Po mom mišljenju, kako sezona odmiče, vidi se napredak, tako da se nadam da će nastaviti u tom pozitivnom smeru. 

Omiljeni lik mi je Sajmon. Nekako je najrealniji i najuverljiviji. Što se tiče Kleri i Džejsa, trenitno mi se njihovi delovi ne sviđaju i malo su mi čudni. Mislim da problem nije gluma, nego neverovatno cheesy tekst koji izgovaraju. Izabel mi je ok, ali mi fali malo te njene odresitosti, koja nam je svima poznata. Alek me u nekim momentima oduševi, a u nekim mi je samo prosečan. U svakom slučaju ima dosta da se radi na njima, ali su to sve fenomenalni glumci i ljudi i znam da će uspeti, samo treba da se strpimo.

Svakako pogledajte seriju, ima veliki potencijal, a i zanimljiva je ako možete da je odvojite od knjige i da pređete preko nekih stvari koje možda sada deluju glupo, ali će sigurno biti bolje kasnije.

Comics and graphic novels

Hello everyone, 

I apologize for not writing long. I have a lot of obligations lately, so I haven't found time to sit down and write something. I hope that this will change in the future. But let us go back to the topic of this post. Comics and graphic novels.

Until recently, I've almost never read any of them. I have been reading those in daily magazines and various newspapers since I can remember. But I've never bought a comic book or graphic novel, not because I did not want it, but somehow it always felt better to give many for "real" books But when I was in BEOKON last year (if you're interested in my impression how it was, let me know, I will write something about it) and found myself among all these comics and geeks, I simply had to to give them a chance. And I'm so glad i did.

I did not know what I was missing. Experience of reading the story, which is complemented by images, is unforgettable. It is completely different feeling than when reading a book.The comics involve another art except the written word, and it is art. Beautiful pictures complement the story and raise it to a whole other level.That intertwined words and images are a special adventure.

I still haven't  read a lot of them, so I don't have a lot of recommendations, but I'll extract two: 

The first Saga, comic in english, which is for older audience because of the sexual and violent scenes and language. But nonetheless, it is awesome. It takes place in the universe where it is ongoing war between the two races, one with horns, the other with wings. We monitor the fate of a little girl whose mother has wings, but her father has horns , and because of their relationship almost the entire universe want to catch them and kill them. It is about their survival in a world where almost nothing is on their side.

The second is a Lock & key.We follow a family which had tragic fate and that is why they went to the house of their childhood which is not an ordinary house. They call it house of keys and not without reason. I will not say anything more because i think it i best to get into this one without knowing much.

Stripovi i grafičke novele

Zdravo svima,

Izvinjavam se što nisam dugo pisala. Imam jako puno obaveza u poslednje vreme, pa ne stižem nikako da sednem i zapišem nešto. Nadam se da će se to promeniti u budućnosti. Nego da se mi vratimo na temu ovog posta. Stripovi i grafičke novele. 

Do skoro, meni su ovi pojmovi bili skoro nepoznati. Sa naglaskom na skoro.. Čitala sam ja one stipove u zabavniku i raznim novinama od kada znam za sebe. Ali nikad nisam kupila neki strip ili grafičku novelu, ne zato što nisam želela, nego nekako su mi se više davale pare za "prave" knjige. Međutim kada sam bila na Beokonu prošle godine (ako vas zanima moj utisak kako je bilo sa obzirom da se prvi put organizovan prošče godine, javite mi, rado ću napisati nešto i o tome) i našla se među svim tim stripovima i geekovima, prosto sam morala da im dam šansu. I tako mi je draa go.

Nisam znala šta propuštam. Iskustvo čitatanja priče, koja je utpotpunjena slikama, je nezaboravno. U potpunosti je drugačiji osećaj nego kad čitate knjigu. U stripovima se susrećete sa još jednom umetnošću sem pisane reči, a to je likovna. Prelepe slike upotpunjuju priču i podižu je na neki potpuno drugi nivo. Tako isprepletane reči i slike predstavljaju posebnu avanturu.

Nisam još ih još uvek puno pročitala, tako da nemam mnogo preporuka, ali izdvojiću dve:

Prva je Saga, strip na engleskom koji je za nešto stariju publiku zbog seksualnih i nasilnih scena i jezika. Ali pored svega toga je fenomenalno. Odvija se u svemiru gde vlada rat između dve rase, jedne sa rogovima, druge sa krilima. Mi pratimo sudbinu male devojčice čija je majka ima krila a otac rogove, i zbog njihove veze gotovo čitav svemir hoće da ih uhvati i ubije. Radi se o njihovom preživljavanju u svetu gde skoro ništa nije na njihovoj strani.

Druga je Lokot i ključ. Ova grafička novela je za razliku od Sage prevedena na srpski u izdanju Darkwooda. Prati porodicu koju je zadesila tragična sudbina i zbog toga odlaze u svoju kuću iz detinjstva koja nije baš obična kuća. Zovu je kućom ključeva i ne bez razloga. Neću vam reći ništa više jer mislim da je najbolje da se ova knjiga pročita bez prethodno nekog prevelikog znanja o njoj.

Knjige koje jedva čekam da pročitam a izlaze 2016.godine

Još jedna godina je iza nas. Ne mogu da verujem da je već 2016. Vreme je proletelo tako brzo. Prošla godina je bila OK što se čitanja tiče. Nisam pročitala koliko sam se nadala, ali sam zadovoljana. U 2016. nadam se da ću porčitati barem 40 knjiga, što je i moja goodreads cilj za ovu godinu (Više o izazovima i ciljevima za ovu godinu u. nekom budućem postu)

Toliko dobrih knjiga izlazi ove godine. Tako sam uzbuđena zbog mnogih od njih, pa sam odlučila da napišem one zbog kojih sam najiše uzbuđena.

1. Putnik od Aleksandre Breken

Uvek sam bila zainteresovana za putovanje kroz vreme, i ova knjiga izgleda jako zanimljivo.Čula dosta dobrih komentara o ovoj knjizi, što me je ubedilo da je ovo sjajna knjiga i da ja treba da je pročitam.

Brandon Sanderson me je upoznao sa celim ovim žanrom zanimljevim i dugačijim vrstama magije, tako da kada sam čula da će ova knjiga izaći  bila sam veoma uzbuđena. Osećam da će ovo biti jedinstveno putovanje, sa jedinstvenom pričom.

Most anticipated books of 2016

Another year is behind us. I can't believe it is already 2016. Time just flew by so quickly. Last year was OK reading year for me. I haven't read as much as i hoped for, but i am satisfied.

In 2016 i am hoping to read at least 40 books, which is my goodreads goal for this year.(More on challenges and goal for this year in some future posts)

There is so many good books that are coming out this year. I am so excited for a lot of them, so i decided to write down ones that i am most excited for. 

1. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

I was always interested in time travel, and this book looks really interesting. I've also heard a lot of good reviews for this book, with only convinced me that this is great book and that i should read it.

Brandon Sanderson introduced me to this whole genre of different and cool types of magic, so when i have heard that this one will come out i was really excited. I feel like this is going to be unique journey with unique story.

I have always wanted to read some of Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter series. I have tried with The Mortal Intruments, but I haven't finished it. I guess i was intimidated by how big series is. And now she is coming out with new series and i am so excited!

I haven't read any retellings before, so i decided to find one. This one looked the most interesting because it is from villain's point of view and it looks unique.
